| Dry White | Crisp clean and fruity, quite pleasant albeit unexciting example of style. |
| Velhotes White | Velhotes, or Old Friends is the the biggest Calem brand produced in all three colours. The white is very similar to the dry white but fuller and of course sweeter. Hot, aggressive spirit spoils the finish. |
| Lagrima | the sweetest white Port. Again, very mush in the same mould as the previous two, with the spirit again showing through the sweet palate. |
| Velhotes Fine Ruby | nice fresh is rather simple fruit, and yet again the spirit is excessive on the palate. Pleasant for price though. |
| 1997 LBV | modern style LBV. Big and powerful wine, good depth and quality of fruit, with a nice dense structure to it. |
| Velhotes Fine Tawny | The single biggest seller in the Calem range, and the biggest seller on the domestic market. Pinkish rim, quite youthful, again hot spirit dominates the raspberry and strawberry fruits on palate. Not a bad example of type, but there are so many better ones. |
| 2000 vintage | dense, powerful wine with loads of structure and very good full-flavoured fruit character. An excellent vintage that deserves all the plaudits it has received. Probably the best Calem vintage since the 1970. |
| Reserva | this is a 7 year old tawny. Nice mature character without great age but excellent fruit and balance. Not a great fine wine but certainly a good one. |
| Colheita 1991 | lighter colour. Spirit well integrated here. Very good. |
| 10 year old tawny | a good complex blend with some youthful hints and yet also with some very mature toffee and caramel characters. Again spirit not showing so strongly as with some of the Calem wines. |
| 20 year old tawny | A very elegant wine. Not the rich style, this has some real finesse about it. A very good example |
| 30 year old tawny | Another fine and elegant wine. not the blockbuster, but a wine that shows both freshness and maturity. |
| 40 year old tawny | sweet raisin and fudge nose, nicely complex and with a long finish. |
